CHAIR & CEO MESSAGE

Dear Member,

For the past 25 years, partnerships have empowered SID to carry out its mission to champion good governance and uplift the directorship profession.

By forging and maintaining win-win partnerships, SID has been able to:

  • Advance thought leadership and advocacy through publications such as our Corporate Governance Guides for Boards in Singapore, Directors Bulletin and Boardroom Matters series, as well as research reports including the biennial Singapore Directorship Report and Board of Directors Survey.
  • Build competencies and capabilities through professional development courses like the Listed Entity Director Programme for first-time directors of listed entities, the Governance for Outstanding Organisation Directors (SGOOD) programme for charity board directors, Subsidiary Board Director Fundamentals, Masterclasses, Business Future Series, Pit-Stops, Current Topics, Board Conversations and the recently launched Board Readiness Programme , co-developed with 20 preeminent professional service firms.
  • Strengthen the governance ecosystem by connecting members and stakeholders within the directorship and corporate governance community for peer learning, support and much more.

As we mark our 25th anniversary, SID is creating new professional development pathways to help members better navigate the evolving corporate governance landscape. We will be introducing an accreditation framework to help directors benchmark themselves with the necessary skills, knowledge and mindset to perform their role as a board director. This will also help boards identify directors who meet high standards of professionalism, and who are able to fulfil their responsibilities to the organisation.

In order to keep increasing the value and maximising the potential of SID, we continue to count on our partners to contribute their time, talent and expertise. If you and your organisation are committed to Governance for Good, here are a few ways you can support the work that we do:

  • Join us as an SID Annual Corporate Partner.
  • Invest in a flight (or two!) at the 25th anniversary edition of our signature fundraising SID Golf Tournament on 9 June 2023 at the Sentosa Golf Club with our Guest-of-Honour Minister S Iswaran.
  • Engage with over 800 directors by sponsoring our upcoming flagship SID Directors Conference which will be held for the first time at The Esplanade on 20 September 2023. This year’s conference will take on a festival concept, so attendees will not only benefit from the usual keynote addresses and plenary panels, they will also get to choose their own “learning adventure” by visiting different interactive zones.
  • Showcase your services to the board director community by highlighting your thought leadership or advertising in our quarterly Directors Bulletin.

A partnership with SID contributes to a thriving governance ecosystem and brings value to your organisation, clients and associates. Thank you for helping us advance our mission and reach out to even more great partners to multiply our efforts.

Yours in directorship,

Su-Yen and Terence
