SPEAKERS

Ooi Huey Tyng
Chair, SID NRC Chapter
Ms Ooi Huey Tyng is the Chair of the Nominating and Remuneration Committee Chapter at SID and an independent director on multiple boards. She has over 30 years of experience in senior positions at global banks, leading payments technology provider and fintech. She serves on board of AIG Asia Pacific Insurance where she chairs the risk management committee and serves on the audit committee and nomination committee. She is also an independent director of Maxis and serves on the audit and risk committee, transformation committee and remuneration committee. She is a member of the Board of Governors of Raffles Institution. Ms Ooi was the Regional Managing Director, Head of GrabPay and served as nominee director on a number of GrabPay and GrabInsure joint venture company boards. Before joining Grab, she was Visa’s Country Manager for Singapore and Brunei and held senior leadership positions at Citibank, DBS and UOB.

Ang Sok Leng
Accredited Board Director
Ms Ang Sok Leng is a seasoned banking and finance professional with over three decades of leadership experience spanning technology, corporate, private and transaction banking. She has successfully built businesses, developed credit products, and driven franchise-level corporate governance initiatives. She served as chief administrative officer at Citibank for ASEAN and Singapore, in the executive and risk and control committees. Ms Ang has played pivotal roles in loan recovery during financial crises and in structuring innovative financing solutions, such as property, aircraft and art financing. She was head of credit advisory for HSBC Private Bank, South East Asia. Ms Ang is a board member of The Salvation Army Singapore Social Fund Board, where she champions governance and strategic oversight.

Guna Chellappan
Country Manager for Singapore, Red Hat Asia Pacific
With over 30 years of leadership experience in the IT industry, Guna Chellappan is currently the general manager for Singapore Red Hat, where he leads the business activities in the country. Over the years, Guna has been extensively involved in the implementation of solutions such as Hybrid Cloud, Data and AI in various industries in AsiaPacific.
He has held regional leadership positions at IBM Data & AI Teams as well as JDA Software and Oracle. As Past President of SGTech and VP, SCS Cloud Chapter, he has actively contributed to the community. Conferred the title of SCS Fellow for established reputation of eminence and authority in the field of tech and positive influence to the tech community. Guna graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Honors). Guna is an active NS Volunteer recognized with the National Commendation Medal and the NSMan of the Year award.

Karen Loon
SID Council Member
Ms Karen Loon is a non-executive director of for-profit and nonprofit organisations in Singapore. She is a council member of Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) and a past chair of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Singapore Council. She was previously a board member of INSEAD Directors Network and a committee member of BoardAgender. A former Financial Services (Assurance) partner, Banking and Capital Leader and Territory Diversity Leader of PwC Singapore, she has corporate governance qualifications from SID, INSEAD and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has a Master’s degree in business and change, and a graduate diploma in finance. She is also a published author and thought leader on diversity.

Chong Yoke Sin
SID Council Member
Dr Chong Yoke Sin has keen interests in AI ethics advocacy and digital transformation. She is a board member of the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore and independent director of Wilmar International, Great Eastern Holdings, Anacle and Mount Alvernia Hospital. Dr Chong chairs the portfolio management committee of A*Star and the advisory council of the School of Computing and Information Sciences at Singapore Management University. A former managing partner of iGlobe, she is the immediate past president of the Singapore Computer Society where she chaired the AI ethics and governance council. She has served on the boards of SGEnable, NKF, Republic Polytechnic, Assisi Hospice, the CHIJ Schools board of management and Health Sciences Authority.

Wahab Yusoff
Founding Partner, Rekanext Capital Partners
With over 35 years of experience in the information technology, computer and cyber security fields, Mr Wahab Yusoff has held leadership roles in companies helping multinational corporations establish and grow their operations in the Asia Pacific. Those companies include Delinea Singapore, Forescout Technologies, Palo Alto Networks ASEAN, McAfee and Intel Security and EMC Computer Systems. Mr Wahab is a board director of Singapore’s Civil Service College and board member of National Arts Council and Energy Market Authority. He is a non-executive director of Changi Airport Group. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from National University of Singapore and is a graduate of INSEAD’s International Executive Programme.

Wee Lieng Seng
Co-Founder and CEO, Dragonfly LLC
Mr Wee Liengseng is CEO of Dragonfly, a New York firm providing quantitative risk management and applications for strategy and investments. He is an independent director of Private Infrastructure Development Group and GuocoLand, and serves on the investor committee of Mapletree US Logistics Private Trust and the board of NUS Business School. Mr Wee was previously based in New York as Managing Director of global risk management at Bankers Trust New York, Partner at Capco and CMRA, and Senior Associate in strategy at Booz Allen. Prior to that, he was a banker with Banque Paribas in Singapore. Mr Wee has been an adjunct professor of risk management at SMU, Columbia University and Peking University. He co-authored the books What Every CEO Must Know About Risk and RAROC and Risk Management.
