Conducted in Mandarin, this session is particularly useful for directors of companies in Singapore with business partnerships in China, or companies seeking to establish closer commercial links. Using real-world case studies, participants explore cultural nuances in understanding and navigating differing business interests, confidentiality, disclosure requirements, and legal and regulatory issues. Presentations offer practical tools and frameworks to manage potential fractures, and interactive breakouts provide opportunities for exchanging perspectives and insights with directors and corporate professionals with extensive cross-border experience.

Rachel Eng
Managing Director, Eng and Co. LLC


Ms Rachel Eng is the managing director of Eng and Co. LLC, a Singapore law firm which is part of the network of member firms of PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited (PwC). She is a corporate lawyer with more than 30 years of experience, focusing on corporate mergers and acquisitions, corporate advisory, corporate governance, ESG and listings work. Ms Eng is a board member of JTC Corporation and The National Environment Agency. She is a Singapore representative to the ASEAN Business Advisory Council and a member of the appeals panel of Abu Dhabi Global Market. She also serves on the council of the Singapore National Employers Federation and the SGH Health Development Fund committee, part of the SingHealth Fund.

 

Peh Zu Hao
Director, Eng and Co. LLC


Mr Peh Zu Hao is a director at Eng and Co. LLC where he has represented both issuers and underwriters in initial public offerings on the Mainboard and Catalist boards of the Singapore Exchange, as well as secondary offerings such as rights issues and bonus issues. Mr Peh has advised companies on local and cross-border transactions including mergers and acquisition, special-purpose acquisition companies, joint ventures, as well as general corporate and regulatory advisory matters. Mr Peh is a former management associate with the SGX Group, where he rotated across both business and regulatory departments.

 

Ooi Huey Hien
Associate Director, LVM Law Chambers LLC

Ms Ooi Huey Hien is an associate director at LVM Law Chambers LLC, a boutique law firm specialising in cross-border dispute resolution. She co-leads the firm’s China and Asia practice, advising multinational corporations, listed companies and state-owned enterprises on high-stakes litigation, international arbitration and regulatory strategy. Her practice focuses on complex disputes and risk management with a China-related element. Ms Ooi has extensive experience across a wide range of industries, including global supply chains, telecommunications infrastructure, software joint ventures, commodities trading, cross-border insolvency and insurance.

 

Ge Huangbin
Director, LVM Law Chambers LLC

Mr Ge Huangbin is a director and heads the China and Asia Practice at LVM Law Chambers LLC, he is also an experienced international arbitrator with a dual background in engineering and law. He has served as sole, presiding and co-arbitrator in cases administered by leading institutions including Singapore International Arbitration Centre, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, and Shanghai International Arbitration Centre, to name a few. Mr Ge is an arbitrator with the South China International Arbitration Center and Thailand Arbitration Center, and the co-president of the Central Asian Court of International Arbitration in Kyrgyzstan. His work spans a broad spectrum of jurisdictions, having led teams in disputes governed by the laws of Singapore, China, India, Brunei and Thailand, among others.
