Inaugural donation drive raises more than $250,000

To wrap up its 25th Anniversary year, the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) ran a donation drive for the Community Chest (ComChest) from 30 November to 31 December 2023.

More than $250,000 was raised in support of the Community Capability Trust, set up by the Ministry of Social and Family Development and National Council of Social Service to drive capability and capacity building within the social service sector. This includes developing board leadership and enhancing board capabilities to provide strategic guidance to social service agencies.

The amount was made possible through a 2:1 matching grant by the Singapore Government and Tote Board, and a personal dollar-for-dollar matching by SID member and Chairman, ComChest Chew Sutat, for the first $25,000 donated.

SID would like to thank all members, partners and friends for their generous contributions.

Special thanks to Sutat for his generous support and the ComChest team for making this campaign possible.

SID Vice Chair Pauline Goh at ComChest event with Minister for Social and Family Development Mr Masagos Zulkifli. SID was recognised as a Silver partner.

SID Chair Yeoh Oon Jin presented a token to SID member and Chair, Community Chest Singapore Chew Sutat to thank him for matching members’ donation.
