GLOBAL DIRECTORS EXCHANGE SINGAPORE 2025

In Collaboration with:

The inaugural Global Directors Exchange (GDX) was successfully conducted from 10 to 11 September 2025 in Singapore.

Held in conjunction with the Global Meeting of the Global Network of Director Institutes (GNDI), the 2-day event convened some 60 board chairs and seasoned directors from more than 30 territories for a high-level, peer-to-peer exchange on “Boards in an Intelligence-Led Era”.

Against a backdrop of geopolitical uncertainty, technological disruption, and rising stakeholder expectations, the GDX explored how directors must evolve - not only in what they know, but in how they decide and lead.

WIDENING BOARDROOM HORIZONS | BUILDING GLOBAL CONNECTIONS

GDX participants had the opportunity to exchange insights and build relationships in an intimate setting with global peers as well as with delegates of the GNDI Global Meeting representing their respective director institutes. These GNDI leaders participated in segments of the GDX, providing participants with opportunities to network and interact with them.

Territories that delegates come from include Argentina, Australia, Bhutan, Cambodia, Canada, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Mongolia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam.

CONFRONTING COMPLEXITY | GOVERNING WITH FORESIGHT

The GDX programme explored the evolving responsibilities of today’s boards through a series of curated presentations, learning journeys, and global conversations. Key themes included:

  • Geopolitical risk and how boards interpret shifting power dynamics, economic fragmentation, and Asia’s strategic role
  • Boardroom dilemmas that test judgment across legal, ethical, commercial, and stakeholder domains
  • The intelligent boardroom, and how technology and real-time data can strengthen oversight and decision-making
  • Cyber resilience by design, with an inside look at how leading organisations embed security into governance culture
  • Responsible AI, and the board’s role in ensuring transparency, ethics, and accountability
  • Climate governance and sustainability, including nature-based solutions and the integration of ESG into capital allocation
  • Board composition and culture, exploring how director profiles and dynamics are evolving globally

The programme featured insights from Chapter Zero Alliance (f.k.a Climate Governance Initiative), to Temasek portfolio companies Ensign, Resaro.ai, and Trusted Services, as well as Resorts World Sentosa and the Singapore Oceanarium covering a wide range of topics including sustainability, cyber resilience, and Gen AI.
