  • An up close and personal chat with Tom Mutch (Partner at Odgers Berndtson) and Carmen Wee (experienced board member) who bring their extensive experience in board search and human capital management.

  • A workshop by LinkedIn featuring Serla Rusli (Senior News Editor) and Toh Ting Wei (News Editor) who share the secrets of building your personal brand on LinkedIn.

The SID Women Directors Chapter (WDC) seeks to advance gender diversity on boards by strategically shaping SID's programming to facilitate this objective. It specifically aims to support aspiring and new women directors on their director journeys through discussions, curated workshops, peer-group learning and networking opportunities.

Choo Oi San
Vice Chair, SID Women Directors Chapter


Ms Choo Oi San is the Country Leader of WTW Singapore, overseeing all corporate functions including marketing, public relations, human resources and facilities, in addition to leading cross-business initiatives. She is also the Divisional Leader of Insurance Consulting & Technology covering Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. A business leader with over 25 years of experience, Ms Choo was a member of the ElderShield Review Committee tasked by the Ministry of Health to review Singapore’s national disability scheme. She was President of the Singapore Actuarial Society and served on the Academic Board of the Singapore College of Insurance as Chairperson of the ASEAN Actuarial Talent Committee. She is a director of WTW Consulting Singapore, WTW Asia Pacific Shared Services Centre and Global Asia Insurance Partnerships.

Tom Mutch
Odgers Berndtson
Partner, Global Board Practice, Public Sector and Sport

Dr Tom Mutch has over two decades of experience in search, specialising in board, C-suite and senior management appointments across the APAC region. He has led board searches for global member-owned organisations, subsidiaries of multinationals, billion-dollar public and private infrastructure assets, hospitals and financial institutions. He has also overseen the searches for university Chancellors, Chairs of private equity-backed entities as well as federal and state government directors across the education, community, sport and treasury portfolios. He is particularly proud of being part of the team delivering the board and CEO for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Before joining the executive search industry, Dr Mutch spent 12 years in academia.

Carmen Wee
Founder & CEO, Carmen Wee & Associates

Ms Carmen Wee is an accomplished chief human resource officer with over 25 years of international business experience. She has led large, complex and multicultural teams in change management, coached business leaders and built high-performance teams across the business ecosystem. An experienced board member serving on commercial, government, academic and public institutions in Singapore and the UK, she is a remuneration committee chair and sits on nomination and people committees as well as audit, risk and finance committees. She is an IHRP Master Professional and SID senior accredited director. Ms Wee is author of the book From the Kampung to the Boardroom: My Leadership Journey (2021).

Nishtha Kharb
Committee Member, SID Women Directors Chapter


A prominent thought leader and avid contributor to public policy debates shaping the future of health- tech, intellectual property, data privacy and use of AI by legal sector, Ms Nishtha Kharb has been speaking and moderating at various international conferences. She mentors start-ups and serves as an evangelist to help shape the digital future of the legal profession.  She has also served on the board of the Singapore chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, a professional association of in-house counsels.


LinkedIn workshop


Serla Rusli

Ms Serla Rusli is a Senior News Editor at LinkedIn. She is responsible for building LinkedIn’s editorial presence across Asia, with a particular focus in Indonesia. She has worked with executives from large companies, startups and venture capitals to share best practices in building their presence on LinkedIn. Originally from Indonesia, she has a variety of professional experience under her belt including in the financial industry and as a journalist. She graduated from Singapore Management University with Bachelor degrees in Accountancy and Business Management. She subsequently pursued a Master's degree in financial journalism from the Erasmus Mundus Journalism programme in Europe.

 


Toh Ting Wei


Mr Toh Ting Wei is a News Editor at LinkedIn. He curates and creates content for LinkedIn members across Asia, with a particular focus on business-related topics. In addition, he works with executives and companies to create thought leadership posts and news announcements on the platform. He regularly conducts workshops for a range of organisations in Asia, including banks and technology companies. He is also in charge of LinkedIn's initiatives to engage publishers in Singapore. Previously a transport correspondent at The Straits Times, he has also worked as a freelance multimedia journalist at Agence France-Presse.
