SID 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner


 

2023 marks the silver anniversary of the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID). Key highlights this year included a 25th Anniversary Commemorative Event and the announcement of our accreditation framework to be introduced in 2024. We also launched the SID Alliance for Good Governance and a new flagship Board Readiness Programme for aspiring directors, as well as special editions of our Annual SID Directors Conference, Golf Tournament and Fellows Evening.

To cap an exciting and memorable year, SID is pleased to bring you our 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner. The event will bring together our key stakeholders to celebrate our achievements, rekindle old acquaintances and forge new connections. SID members, council members past and present, fellows and partners, volunteers and supporters, regulators and academics, as well as professionals and experts in the corporate governance ecosystem are invited to be a part of this celebration.

25th Anniversary Commemorative Event

Commemorating 25 Years of Uplifting the Directorship Profession and Championing Good Governance

The Singapore Institute of Directors celebrated its 25th anniversary with a commemorative event on 28 July 2023. Mr Lawrence Wong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance was the Guest-of-Honour.

The event was streamed live on social media and attended in person by some 150 apex-level representatives of organisations that include government bodies, trade associations, chambers, professional bodies, professional services firms and educational institutions.

It was held at SGX Centre to also commemorate a 25-year partnership between SID and Singapore Exchange (SGX Group) to promote corporate governance.

At the event, DPM Wong unveiled the refreshed SID logo during a ceremonial gong-strike to open the securities market for the day. In his address, DPM Wong announced the establishment of the SID accreditation framework for board directors. He also launched the SID Governance for Good Alliance featuring more 100 organisations and encouraged more organisations to join in the movement to champion good governance. Guests were then treated to a fireside chat featuring the Past SID Chairs.
