As the national association for company directors, the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) values our members, who are at the core of everything we do. We proudly honour their dedication and contributions through initiatives such as Lifetime Membership, which recognises long-term commitment to the SID community, and Commemorative Pins, which celebrate key milestones in each member’s journey with the Institute.

Lifetime Membership

Overview
The SID Lifetime Membership recognises members who demonstrate long-term commitment and encourages continued engagement within the SID community. From 1 January 2026, Lifetime Membership will be awarded on a complimentary basis to those who meet the eligibility criteria outlined below.

Lifetime Membership Badge

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for Lifetime Membership, members must:

• Have completed 20 years of continuous paid membership with SID, with no outstanding fees or unresolved disciplinary matters as of 1 January on the year of eligibility.
• Be 70 years of age or above as of 31 December on the year of eligibility.
  
  

Benefits of Lifetime Membership
Enjoy waiver of membership fees for life upon confirmation of Lifetime Membership.

• Have access to the full range of SID resources, courses and events.
• Continue as an integral member of our vibrant community of directors.
  
  

Notification
SID will contact eligible members between September and October to inform them of their qualification for Lifetime Membership and invite them to complete an opt-in declaration. No application is required.

Fellow Life Members who meet the eligibility criteria will also receive the Lifetime Membership Badge.

Revalidation
To ensure SID’s Lifetime Member community remains active and engaged, SID will contact members every two years to revalidate their Lifetime Membership status.

Commemorative Pins
 
To honour your continued support, SID introduced a series of commemorative pins in its 25th anniversary year to mark key milestones in your membership journey.  

These tokens are a gesture of the Institute’s appreciation for your ongoing commitment and contributions over the years.

Should you reach your membership milestone year, the appropriate commemorative pin will be sent to your mailing address.
