Structure and Format
The Accreditation Examination has a total of 100 questions divided into eight sections based on the eight competencies outlined in the Director Competency Model.
Duration
Candidates will be given a one-month window to attempt the examination and will have two hours to complete the entire examination. The two hours will be inclusive of three breaks (10 min each) that candidates can choose to take by clicking on a “Bio-break” button, pausing the exam timer temporarily. Candidates are encouraged to complete the exam in one sitting and within the one-month window.
Minimum Passing Grade
To pass the exam, you must achieve a minimum score of 50% in each of the eight sections and an overall exam score of at least 70%.
Results
Candidates can refer to the candidate portal in ThinkExam to access detailed reports.
If the candidate has not attempted the examination within 2 weeks from the start of the examination window, there will be a reminder sent via email. Candidates are encouraged to complete the examination within the one-month window.
Should the candidate’s examination remain incomplete at the end of the one-month window, their examination will be auto-submitted.

Accreditation Status
The outcome of the candidate's Accreditation Status application will be communicated via email within one month from the conclusion of the examination period, provided that all requirements to pass have been successfully met. Certificates and badges will be included in the same email for your convenience. In the event that a registered candidate does not meet the 32 hours of corporate governance training requirement, the candidate will not be awarded the accreditation status (regardless if they passed) until sufficient evidence is provided.
Preparation Resources
There are no mandated courses required before you take the accreditation exam. However, you will need to indicate that you have fulfilled at least 32 hours of directorship education or training before applying. For example, the completion of all Listed Entity Director modules will accumulate 40 hours of directorship training.
