ACRA will highlight related accounting and disclosure considerations for 2023 financial statements, common findings from its Financial Reporting Surveillance Programme and provide regulatory updates that will affect directors.

Ong Khiaw Hong
Chief Executive, ACRA

Mr Ong Khiaw Hong has been the Chief Executive of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) since 1 Apr 2017. ACRA is the national regulator of business registration, financial reporting, public accountants and corporate service providers in Singapore, and is responsible for developing the accountancy sector and setting the accounting standards for companies, charities, co-operative societies, and societies in Singapore. Prior to joining ACRA, he was the Deputy Commissioner (Corporate & Services) at the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). He holds a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School and was conferred the Public Service Administration Medal (Gold) in 2010.

Tan Boon Gin
CEO, SGX RegCo

Mr Tan Boon Gin joined SGX as Chief Regulatory Officer on 15 June 2015. He now heads Singapore Exchange Regulation, an independent regulatory subsidiary of SGX, which undertakes all frontline regulatory functions to promote a fair, orderly and transparent market. Before joining SGX, Mr Tan was the Director of the Commercial Affairs Department of the Singapore Police Force. Prior to this, Mr Tan held several appointments at the Monetary Authority of Singapore including Director of the Enforcement Division, the Corporate Finance Division and Executive Director of the Investment Intermediaries Department. Mr Tan is an advocate and solicitor and holds degrees from the University of Cambridge and Harvard Law School. He was also awarded the Public Administration (Silver) Medal in 2010.


Tan Wee Khim
Technical Director, Financial Reporting and Standards, ACRA

Ms Tan Wee Khim is the Technical Director for ACRA’s Financial Reporting & Standards Department. The Department sets the strategic direction in promoting high quality financial reporting and filing of financial statements by companies incorporated in Singapore. It administers the Financial Reporting Surveillance Programme which reviews financial statements for compliance with the prescribed accounting standards in Singapore. Ms Tan has 10 years of experience in compliance work with ACRA and prior to joining ACRA, she had eight years of experience in audit practice. She is also a Chartered Accountant of Singapore.



June Sim
Managing Director, Head, Listing Compliance, SGX RegCo

Ms June Sim is the Managing Director and Head of Listing Compliance in SGX RegCo, and oversees the compliance of all SGX-listed companies with the Listing Manual. She leads the function that monitors listed issuers’ compliance with continuing listing obligations, including regulatory oversight of Catalist sponsors. As a senior management member of SGX RegCo, her views are valued in discharging SGX’s responsibilities as the frontline regulator in the review of submissions to SGX RegCo for corporate action. She is a frequent speaker on various corporate governance seminars, and contributes to raising standards of the professionals in our capital market.



Max Loh
Chairman, Audit & Risk Committee Chapter, SID

Mr Max Loh was the EY Managing Partner for ASEAN, Singapore and Brunei till his retirement in July 2022. He led and managed the EY ASEAN, Singapore and Brunei business and operations, providing strategic leadership on market and people development. With years of audit and business advisory experience, he has expertise in assurance, financial reporting, internal control reviews, corporate finance, strategic planning, reorganisation, risk management and business transformation projects for corporate and government concerns as part of their globalisation and transformation efforts. Mr Loh is the Chairman of the Competition & Consumer Commission of Singapore as well as a board member and Audit Committee Chair of Enterprise Singapore, Building & Construction Authority and SPH Media Holdings. He also serves in the capacity of Chairman of ISCA Cares (an IPC) and the Fair Tenancy Industry Committee, Council member of the Singapore Institute of Directors and CPA Australia as well as Member of the External Review Panel on Quality Assurance for Universities.


Tham Sai Choy
Independent Director

Mr Tham Sai Choy is a chartered accountant actively involved in various organisations in a corporate governance role. He serves on the boards of listed companies DBS, including on its board sustainability committee, and Keppel. Other organisations where he holds a board role include Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Nanyang Polytechnic, Mt Alvernia Hospital, Viva Foundation for Children with Cancer and Tax Academy of Singapore. He serves on the Corporate Governance Advisory Committee and has in the past served on the Corporate Governance Council and Accounting Standards Council.  He was, until his retirement from professional practice, chairman of KPMG Asia Pacific, where he was first involved in building resources in sustainability reporting and consulting.


Stephen Ching
SVP, Group Head, Internal Audit, ST Engineering Ltd
President, of IIA Singapore

Mr Stephen Ching is a well-travelled professional with more than 30 years of experience in all facets of internal audit, accounting, financial management, financial analysis and controllership. He contributed about 20 years in BASF South East Asia, the world’s largest chemical firm. Prior to joining ST Engineering in 2019, he was SVP, Head Internal Audit in City Developments Limited. He holds an MBA in Finance and Investment and the professional qualification of ACCA. Mr Ching has made substantial contributions to IIA Singapore, serving in various leadership roles, including Governor, Vice-Chair of the Advocacy Committee, and Chairman of the Sustainability Work Group. He played a pivotal role in developing the Guide to Internal Review of Sustainability Report and serves as an adviser to the Young Professionals Working Group.



Kok Moi Lre
Partner, Assurance, PwC Singapore

Ms Kok Moi Lre is a practising accountant registered with ACRA and she has over 30 years of experience in accounting and auditing with PwC. A financial audit partner leading the Sustainability Assurance practice in PwC Singapore, Ms Kok focuses on both developments in reporting in financial statements relating to ESG matters and the assurance of sustainability reports. In this role, she is familiar with recommendations by the TCFD and the sustainability-related disclosure standards proposed by the International Sustainability Standards Board and tracks the evolving developments in these matters in Europe and the US. Her financial audit engagements include numerous listed and non-listed clients in various industries, including those in the real estate, transportation, engineering and construction sectors. She was also the Lead Accounting Technical Partner in PwC Singapore till 2021. Ms Kok is the immediate past Chairperson of ISCA’s Financial Statements Review Committee, the committee which supports ACRA on its Financial Reporting Surveillance Programme.



Christopher Ong
Managing Director, DHL Express Singapore

Mr Christopher Ong is the Managing Director of DHL Express Singapore, a position he has held since November 2018. Under his leadership, DHL Express Singapore was named as the #1 Singapore Best Workplace by the Great Place to Work Institute for three years in a row, from 2020 to 2022. Mr Ong is a strong advocate of sustainability where he has been pushing the decarbonisation agenda. In 2022, DHL announced the deployment of an additional 80 electric vans in Singapore, making DHL the largest electric delivery fleet operator in the country. This deployment will eliminate 323 tonnes of CO2 emissions per annum and is a significant step towards DHL’s goal of achieving net-zero by 2050. Mr Ong Chris joined DHL in 2006 and was appointed Country Manager of DHL Express Vietnam in 2011 before he took on the role of Managing Director for Malaysia and Brunei in 2014. Prior to joining DHL, he worked at Temasek Holdings, where he was involved in transactions in the transport, logistics, telecom, media, technology and manufacturing sectors.
