Course objectives
- Meet the unique learning needs of board members serving in NPOs.
- Provide a comprehensive understanding of nonprofit governance – equip directors with the knowledge, strategies and best practices to drive effective leadership and organisational sustainability.
- Offer a practical and strategic approach to strengthening governance and enhancing the impact of NPOs.
This programme is recognised by SGX RegCo as one of the four approved directorship programmes fulfilling mandatory training requirements for the Listed Entity Director (LED) Programme Bridging Pathway.

Part 1: 10 e-Learning Modules (Date of Registration - 30 June 2026 12PM)
The 10 e-Learning modules in the SGOOD 2.0 programme (8 core modules plus foundation and capstone modules) address key governance challenges and opportunities faced by board directors of NPOs. These modules aim to build strategic, fiduciary and leadership capabilities needed to serve effectively on NPO boards. Registrants will receive an email with instructions on how to access the e-Learning Portal.
SGD: Board Essentials (Foundational)
Build a foundational understanding of Singapore’s charity sector, the critical role of boards in governance and how effective board leadership strengthens accountability and stakeholder trust.
SGD1: Board Leadership and Dynamics
Lead with purpose by mastering board roles, cultivating a high-performing board culture, and enabling sustained impact through strategic succession and evaluation.
SGD2: Board and Management Dynamics
Foster strategic, trust-based partnerships between boards and management by clarifying roles, strengthening communication and addressing engagement challenges for effective governance.
SGD3: Strategy and Board Performance
Drive strategic impact by setting long-term direction, aligning resources with the mission and enhancing board effectiveness through structured planning and oversight.
SGD4: Human Capital
Shape a purpose-driven, future-ready workforce by aligning human capital strategy with organisational goals, fostering a values-based culture and ensuring accountability across staff and volunteer engagement.
SGD5: Fundraising, Outreach and Advocacy
Integrate fundraising, outreach and advocacy into board-level strategy to build donor trust, deepen stakeholder engagement and advance sustainable philanthropy for long-term mission impact.
SGD6: Financial Governance
Ensure financial stewardship by understanding board responsibilities in compliance, budgeting, oversight and reserves management to uphold transparency, accountability and sustainability.
SGD7: Risk Governance
Strengthen board oversight of risk by clarifying governance responsibilities, addressing emerging risks including digital and environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations, and guiding the development of systems that build resilience and support strategic decision-making.
SGD8: User Centric Services
Promote empathy-driven governance by embedding user insights into board strategy, decisions and oversight to ensure services are inclusive, relevant and impactful.
SGD: Futures
Prepare charity boards to be future-ready by anticipating emerging trends, enhancing strategic foresight and adopting forward-looking practices in ESG, digital transformation and collaborative governance to drive lasting social impact.
Part 2: In-Person Session (7 May 2026)
Date: 7 May 2026 (Thursday)
Time: 9am - 6pm
Participants are required to attend a facilitated in-person learning session (Full Day) which serves as a capstone experience. An email notification with venue details will be sent to registrants 3 working days before the session.
These sessions delve into real-world case studies drawn from the 10 e-Learning modules, enabling attendees to:
- Apply governance principles in practical, scenario-based discussions.
- Share diverse perspectives and boardroom experiences.
- Reflect on challenges and solutions in a collaborative setting.
- Deepen their understanding of complex issues such as board dynamics, risk oversight, financial stewardship and user-centric decision making.
Participants will also benefit from peer learning and networking opportunities, fostering connections with fellow board directors across the nonprofit sector and strengthening the governance ecosystem.
It is mandatory for participants to complete Part 1 (all e-Learning modules) and Part 2 (attend In-Person session) to fulfil the completion criteria for the SGOOD 2.0 programme.

Funding Support
The SGOOD 2.0 programme is pre-approved under the Charities Capability Fund (CCF) Training Grant. Exempt and registered charities, as well as Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs) are eligible to apply.
Eligible participants can receive up to 80% course fee support under the CCF and will only need to pay the net course fee (i.e., after CCF funding) directly to SID.
About the CCF Training Grant
The Charities Capability Fund (CCF) Training Grant provides co-funding for local training courses aimed at helping charities meet regulatory requirements and strengthen governance.
CCF Pre-Approval Period: 1 July 2025 – 30 June 2026

Eligible Organisations: Exempt and registered charities, and Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs)
CCF Grant Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the CCF Grant for the SGOOD 2.0 Programme, applicants must be:
- Governing board members of charities; or
- Sub-committee members of charities with at least 6 months of service; or
- Charity staff with an official designation and at least 6 months of service.
For the CCF Grant to be disbursed, applicants must:
- Complete the entire SGOOD programme
- Have their application approved by the CCF Secretariat

SID will manage the claims process with the CCF Secretariat on behalf of registrants.
All registrants who are choosing the CCF Grant option must complete the CCF GRANT APPLICATION FORM after completing the checkout process.
You will be fully responsible for the outstanding balance of the course fees, calculated based on the full, unfunded course fee under any of the following circumstances:
- If you do not submit the CCF Grant Application form;
- If you are deemed ineligible for CCF funding;
- If your application is not approved; or
- If the CCF grant is not disbursed by the CCF Secretariat for any reason.

Change of Date Policy:
Not applicable for this session as it is the final In-Person session of the SGOOD 2025/26 cohort.
No Refund Policy:
All course fees paid are strictly non-refundable. Please note that withdrawals or refund requests will not be accepted under any circumstances once registration has been submitted.
For registrants applying under the CCF Training Grant option, please note that if you withdraw or do not complete the course, you will be required to pay the remaining balance of the course fees that would have been covered by the grant.
