Listed Entity Director Programme
The Board Risk Committee (BRC) supports the board in ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management and internal control systems. This module examines the regulatory environment and various governance structures through which boards can have oversight, as well as how the BRC can obtain assurance for its disclosure. Key concepts of risk and risk management are explained, including the risk universe, enterprise risk management frameworks, and governance, risk and compliance frameworks.

  1. Understand the key requirements for adequate and effective risk management and internal control systems.
  2. Highlight the key disclosure requirements related to risk management and sustainability reporting.
  3. Recognise the roles and functions of the board, board committees, management and assurance providers in relation to risk management and sustainability reporting.

SPEAKERS

Tea Wei Li
Partner, Risk Consulting, KPMG Singapore

Ms Tea Wei Li has over 21 years of external audit, internal audit, enterprise risk management and corporate governance experience. She assisted in the review of existing corporate governance practices in public listed companies and pre-IPO entities vis-à-vis good governance practices as stated in SGX listing rules and code of corporate governance guidelines and the pre-IPO listing requirements. She also conducts various risk management workshops to develop and/or refine key risk indicators and risk treatment action plans. She is an accredited trainer and is responsible for several thought leaderships in risk management.


Wendy Lim
Partner, Cyber Security Consulting, KPMG Singapore

Ms Wendy Lim is a Partner in the Cyber Security Consulting practice within KPMG Singapore. She is the Service Line Lead for Cyber/Data Privacy Laws & Regulations, Technology Risk Management and Third Party Cyber/Outsourcing Risk Management. With more than 17 years of experience in various cyber security fields, she has in-depth experience in leading and managing engagements that focus on providing clients with IT/cyber risk management, IT/cyber regulatory advisory support, IT regulatory compliance reviews, third party risk consulting and independent assessments. She has also assisted clients in interpreting technology, data protection and third party risk regulations in various sectors.

Professor Ho Yew Kee
Associate Provost, Singapore Institute of Technology


Professor Ho Yew Kee is Professor of Accounting and Associate Provost at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). He oversees the professional training programme at SIT. He was previously Professor and Head, Department of Accounting, Vice Dean (Finance & Administration) and Chairman (Executive Education) at NUS Business School. He is a director of UOI Ltd. He serves as chairman, Audit Committee, NKF, Human Resource Committee, St Luke Eldercare, Council member, CPA Australia (Singapore) Division among others. He also sits on the investment committees of several not-for-profit organisations. He formerly held board level appointments in the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Accounting and Corporate Reporting Authority, Singapore Tax Academy among others.



Stephen Miller
President & Group Chief Executive Officer, ST Telemedia


Mr Stephen Miller is President and Group Chief Executive Officer of ST Telemedia (STT), and responsible for the company’s strategic direction, leadership and continued growth. He has held various senior positions at STT, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to his current position, he was Consultant to STT for its portfolio companies. Mr Miller has over 25 years of global investment, financial management, strategic planning and industry experience. He spent over 14 years of his career in investment banking with Credit Suisse, primarily heading its telecommunications and media group throughout Asia and the Pacific.
