CTP 3 - Remuneration and ESG: Executive Pay and Beyond
It is becoming increasingly evident that ESG considerations need to be integrated into corporate strategy for a business to create sustainable value. Remuneration, alongside broader workforce arrangements can play a vital role in enabling a company to unlock opportunities through activating specific elements within the ESG pillars to deliver on corporate strategy. With debate on this topic often centered around the practice of linking executive pay to ESG targets, in this session we will discuss the ‘why and how’ of linking executive pay to ESG. We will also explore the role of broader employee reward strategies in reinforcing business priorities to deliver on ESG goals, and ways in which reward can contribute to ESG pillars - most notably, the “S” in ESG.
