In December 2023, at least 10 Singapore companies allegedly suffered data breaches, according to threat intelligence platform FalconFeeds.io. Data breach is no longer a question of “if” but “when”. Board directors have to address personal data protection and the potential impact of data breaches on their organisations. In this interactive workshop presented by SID and Infocomm Media Development Authority, industry experts will provide insights into how guidelines by the Personal Data Protection Commission can help companies prevent and manage data breaches. At the session, participants will experience a data breach simulation to better prepare them to face such incidents at the board level.

ABOUT THE PDPC-APPOINTED SPEAKERS

Celine Chew
Head of Learning & Development, Straits Interactive

Ms Celine Chew is the Head of Learning and Development at Straits Interactive where she oversees the development of training for data governance and generative AI for adult learners. She developed the Advanced Certificate in Generative AI, Ethics and Data Protection programme conducted at SMU Academy. Ms Chew also conducts training for Data Protection Officers (DPOs), helping companies propel their digital transformation efforts through data protection and governance. Through her hands-on approach and strategic insights, she has advanced the integration of cutting-edge AI technologies and helped launch the company’s first AI DPO Assistant toolkit. 


Wendy Lim

Ms Wendy Lim is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) with nine years of data privacy experience. She has supported over 50 organisations in their data protection compliance journey and worked with CEOs and DPOs across various industries, helping them address data protection challenges and improve operational compliance through automation. Ms Lim’s privacy and data protection credentials include internationally recognised professional qualifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals, Open Compliance Ethics Group and EXIN - the Certified Information Privacy Manager, the GRC Professional and the Integrated Data Privacy Professional Certification.
