BSP 1 - When “What if?” becomes “What now?”: A High-Stakes Cyber Simulation for Board Members (C)

Board Simulation Programme
Cyber security and digital risk have moved from IT concerns to the very heart of board accountability. Even the most advanced defences can fail if leaders are caught unprepared. Board members and senior management must work together to mitigate the impact of cyber attacks. This simulation-based session creates a realistic, high-impact cyber incident scenario tailored for corporate leaders. Participants will practise making tough decisions in crisis situations, guided by experts, e.g., whether to pay a ransom; how to handle conflicting stakeholder demands; which regulatory obligations to prioritise.

Course Objectives

  • Strengthen strategic cyber oversight: Gain practical experience in real-time threat identification and response, while stress-testing escalation paths and accountability structures in a simulated crisis.
  • Build board-management cohesion: Bolster coordination and communication between board members and senior management by clarifying priorities, roles and decision-making authority.
  • Boost awareness of emerging threats and regulatory obligations: Understand how realised threats intersect with legal requirements, reputational risk and broader strategic imperatives.
