Dear Member,

Happy 2023!

SID marks its 25th anniversary this year, and we invite you to join us in commemorating this milestone, as we further our mission to uplift the directorship profession and champion good governance.

As a valued member, you can look forward to benefit from:

  • More professional development and networking opportunities, with an inaugural members gala in November.
  • Free-for-members online learning sessions featuring practical insights by experts on current topics and exclusive in-person networking events curated by our growing number of SID networks.
  • A self-assessment tool to help you chart your own development pathway towards directorship excellence.
  • Thought leadership pieces curated by experienced directors and professionals, including podcasts and video recordings of live events and discussions.
To mark our 25th anniversary, our signature events will feature fresh elements. The SID Directors Conference will take on a festival format to let you choose your own learning adventure with different interactive zones, in addition to plenary sessions presented by seasoned experts and fellow directors. Members can also look forward to making history with a hole-in-one at the Sentosa Golf Club during our annual SID Golf Tournament.

We are working on pushing out an accreditation framework, a holistic board-readiness programme, and increasing board appointment opportunities, to further impact the nonprofit and charity space. We are also collaborating with partners to enhance our corporate membership programme, support board renewal, and help organisations transform their boards. Whether you are an aspiring director or a seasoned board member, there is something for everyone.

As we welcome a new year with a brand new website, we are pleased to announce that the members’ portal is now streamlined for easier navigation. As part of our digital transformation journey to enhance your digital experience, we hope to serve you better.

As you plan for 2023, get the most out of your SID membership this year:
  • Download your copy of the Courses and Events Guide 2023, and register for courses to help you enhance your skills and stay up-to-date.
  • Sign up and participate in SID networks that will keep you in touch with other members with similar interests.
  • Update your personal particulars in the members' portal to be invited to selected events or initiatives based on your professional profile.

With so many exciting plans, we look forward to welcome you at one of many events. Meanwhile, here’s wishing you a meaningful and rewarding year ahead!

Yours in directorship,

Su-Yen and Terence
