About the programme
SID’s Board Readiness Programme (BRP) 2.0 is a refreshed and enhanced edition of our flagship initiative, designed to prepare senior corporate executives and professionals for board directorship positions. Building on the strengths of the earlier programme – professional training, board simulation exercises, self-assessment, mentorship and professional networking – BRP 2.0 introduces online learning modules with in-person facilitated sessions for greater flexibility and depth.
This hybrid nine-month programme (in-person and online learning) takes aspiring directors through a comprehensive development journey focused on strengthening board competencies, sharpening strategic insights and incorporating a structured mentorship component.
Delivered by SID and its knowledge partners, the holistic programme equips participants with essential board knowledge and skills, while attuning them to the evolving risks, opportunities and governance expectations facing boards today.

Background
On 28 July 2023, the first edition of BRP was launched as SID-SCS Women in Tech Board Readiness Programme (SID-SCS WIT BRP). In collaboration with the Singapore Computer Society Women in Tech Chapter (SCS WIT), this version of the BRP was exclusive to members of SCS WIT. The programme aimed to expand the talent pool of board-ready women leaders with a background or expertise in technology, ultimately fostering greater board diversity in terms of both gender and functional expertise.
Since then, the BRP has continued annually with subsequent editions, building on its foundations to reach a wider pool of aspiring directors.
