SDP3 - Finance for Directors

Course Description Finance is the life blood of companies. This module allows attendees to understand more about company finance, and the board’s role in it.

The module is structured around the key concepts of accounting, finance and creating shareholder value. It is designed to highlight the financial indicators and thinking needed for finance to play a strategic role to the business and not from a controller’s perspective.
Course Objectives
  1. Explain company accounts and how to evaluate the financial health of companies using accepted methods in financial statement analyses.
  2. Understand how to evaluate and make rational financial decisions.
  3. Provide knowledge of the different sources of funds for a company.
  4. Discuss dividend decisions and policies.
  5. Explain how various actions will impact shareholder value.
