Webinar - Opportunities in Digital Economy Agreements

Webinar - Opportunities in Digital Economy Agreements
Digital Economy Agreements (DEAs) are a new form of international agreement that are part of Singapore’s multi-pronged strategy towards facilitating trade and fostering collaboration in a digital economy. DEAs establish a framework for Government-to-Government cooperation to shape international rules, set benchmarks and establish interoperability in areas such as paperless trade and e-payments. They also create a common understanding between like-minded partners on standards and governance approaches for emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).

Singapore has signed a trilateral agreement with Chile and New Zealand, and a bilateral agreement with Australia earlier this year to foster cooperation in emerging digital areas and promote interoperability between different regimes, by aligning standards and addressing new issues brought about by digitalisation.

Join our experts from the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) who co-lead the negotiations of DEA on the key features of the DEAs and how businesses can benefit from them.
