“Sustainability” is a familiar buzzword. However, few boards and management have made the commitment to integrate sustainability effectively into their business strategies, culture and processes. Most immediate responses revolve around fulfilling regulations while some focus on sustainability reporting as prescribed by standards. How then do we measure the positive bearing of sustainability on company performance and/or returns?
This session aims to untangle the web of information and contexts around sustainability. It reframes the topic with enterprise business and reputation risk lens, to enable a better appreciation of sustainability, its value preservation and value creation impact on an organisation.
Course Objectives
- Understand sustainability from the angle of its influence on business strategies, operations and a firm’s brand and reputation.
- Gain insights on effective actions that directors can take in addressing sustainability.
- Conceptualise how to integrate sustainability into achieving or furthering business strategies.
