CTP 2 - COSO ERM Workshop

CTP 2 - COSO ERM Workshop
The Role Of The Board In Risk Oversight - Merging Enterprise Risk Management With Strategy.

Synopsis

This session aims to raise risk acumen and critical thinking for Boards to make better decisions. Dr. Paul Walker, who leads the Center for Excellence in Enterprise Risk Management established at St. John’s University’s Peter J. Tobin College of Business, will share how Boards can ensure that their companies’ strategic goals are met by incorporating a robust ERM framework. He will also provide a review of recommended Board Risk Oversight best practices to help Boards to monitor and manage risks.

Dr. Walker will also answer key questions like: What are the benefits of merging ERM with strategy? What is the link between ERM and innovation? What are the ERM expectations of Boards and company stakeholders? Are these expectations aligned? Is your company’s current ERM process working? How would you know? How does effective risk management help companies achieve the right risk/reward balance?

He will review the two most frequently used ERM frameworks and discuss how ISO 31000 and COSO ERM can be helpful for developing or refreshing a risk program.
