CTP 8 - NAVIGATING THE RISK OF ECONOMIC SANCTIONS
NAVIGATING THE RISK OF ECONOMIC SANCTIONS IN THE TRUMP ERA

President Trump has launched more sanctions programmes, blacklisted more entities, and assessed more significant sanctions penalties than any prior President.

Singaporean firms, given their export orientation and close ties with U.S. suppliers and customers, are on the frontlines of sanctions risks especially as Asia comes more into focus as a site for sanctions implementation and enforcement.

Recent penalties against major Asian manufacturers, bars on certain Asian companies importing goods from U.S. suppliers, the imposition of substantial penalties on Singaporean companies, and the blacklisting of major corporations that trade on Asian exchanges are a few of the recent sanctions actions that have understandably unnerved companies in the region.

Potential further changes to Russian, North Korean, and Iran sanctions which could implicate Singaporean energy supplies, suggest that sanctions’ uncertainty is likely here to stay. Adam’s presentation will help participants understand, navigate and plan around this growing sanctions risk.
