The Institute and the Singapore Exchange Limited are jointly organizing a 1 day seminar "Understanding the Regulatory Environment in Singapore" (in Mandarin) on 14 October 2008 (Tuesday) in Shanghai, China.

The Institute together with SGX and Ernst & Young are jointly organizing a half day seminar on "Navigating Uncertainty: A practical guide for directors during crisis” at Marina Mandarin from 9am to 2pm (registration starts at 8.30am).

On the first segment of the seminar, the speakers will discuss the two risks that companies are most vulnerable to today like how companies can manage their exposure to structured products and derivatives, but also how they can protect themselves against fraud.

The second segment will focus on crisis management. Through practical examples, the speakers will look into the steps executive and independent directors should take to contain the damage and how management can work with advisors when a company is in distress. Legal aspects pertaining to directors’ duties and liabilities during turbulent times will also be discussed at the seminar.
